Godspeed You! Motherfucking Black Emperor

Playing in Atlanta. In October. On a Friday night. Atlanta. Playing. In the south. Near me. Must buy tickets. Atlanta. GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR.

Also, they might release new material soon.

All of this after they’ve been on hiatus since 2003 to 2010-ish.

I might be able to go.

Dogs might exist.

Our lives like movies about still lives.

These cities we sleep in,

the cities we’ve come to know,

are burning at the might of our fires.

These fires burn eternally lighter,

the flames like the underside of the sky.

No sooner do our feet leave the ground

than do the buildings topple down.

The fires are blacker than the night

yet we think everything is alright.

The grey cloud of ash rises over our heads

as we slip into the shadows.

The city we sleep in is the city we burn.

Sometimes stepping back…

and looking through a different glass will change everything.
